BIOGRAPHY OF THE ARTIST



 

EARLY YEARS

Childhood delight in color and design emerges early with a preoccupation of crayoning rainbows and scribble designs filled in with pattern; high school art & sewing classes begin to hone raw talent; four years at Kean University, NJ earns B.A. in Art Education; land art teaching jobs in PA & NJ school systems; Moravian College, PA for graduate fine arts classes; design textiles and weave tapestry commissions in CT home studio.



 

QUILT-WORLD YEARS

Begin creating art quilts in 1986. Books, magazines, calendars, postcards, newspaper articles, catalogs & scrapbooks feature quilts and document ten great years exhibiting, winning awards, teaching and speaking in the art quilt world. Quilts enter public, corporate and private collections around the world. selected listings



 

GOING CROSS-CULTURE & COLLAGE

Focus shifts in 1996. Invitations come to share art quilts before diverse audiences in far-flung places, often in faith based venues. Back in the studio quilt designing progresses, begin making giclee prints of most popular quilts, create magazine illustration commissions in fabric art, and play with painted paper and fabric collage. selected listings
